Influence of too low/high air pressure of the air compressor in the process of CNC cutting
In the CNC plasma cutting machine, it is a common choice to equip an air compressor to provide auxiliary gas to complete the cutting process. On the one hand, the use cost of air plasma cutting is low, and on the other hand, the quality of air plasma cutting is relatively stable and reliable. .
During the working process of the CNC cutting machine, due to the influence of various factors such as the use time, the use environment, and the working voltage, the air pressure of the cutting machine may be too high or too low during the working process. The change of air pressure will affect plasma cutting:
1. The impact and solution of low air pressure
Possible reasons: the input air of the air compressor is insufficient, the pressure adjustment of the air regulating valve of the cutting machine is too low, there is oil in the solenoid valve, the air path is not smooth, etc.;
Solution: Pay attention to observe the output pressure display of the air compressor before use. If it does not meet the requirements, adjust the pressure or overhaul the air compressor. If the input air pressure has reached the requirements, check whether the adjustment of the air filter pressure reducing valve is correct, and whether the gauge pressure display can meet the cutting requirements. Otherwise, daily maintenance should be carried out on the air filter pressure reducing valve to ensure that the input air is dry and free of oil. If the input air quality is poor, it will cause oil pollution in the solenoid valve, making it difficult to open the valve core, and the valve port cannot be fully opened. In addition, if the air pressure of the cutting torch nozzle is too low, the solenoid valve needs to be replaced; if the cross section of the gas path becomes smaller, the air pressure will also be too low, and the gas pipe can be replaced according to the instructions.
2. The impact and solution of high air pressure
Possible reasons: Improper adjustment of input air, over-adjustment of the air filter pressure reducing valve or failure of the air filter pressure reducing valve;
Solution: Check whether the pressure of the air compressor is properly adjusted, and whether the pressure of the air compressor and the air filter pressure reducing valve is out of balance. After starting up, if the adjustment switch of the air filter pressure reducing valve is turned, the gauge pressure does not change, indicating that the air filter pressure reducing valve is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.
